Frank was born in Fort Smith, NorthwestTerritories in 1915 to Frank Camsell and Mary Madeleine Boucher. Frank's father drowned in 1922 and Frank was sent, along with his younger siblings, to a residential school in Fort Resolution where he grew up. Frank met Mary Nom in 1947 and they were married in 1948 in Yellowknife, Northwest Temtories.
When Frank was eighteen years old he started working at Burwash Mine in Yellowknife Bay where he had his dog team with him. There he had the opportunity to bring his friends John Baker and Hughey Muir across the bay to stake what later became Giant Mines.
During the Second World War, Frank served with the American Army building the Canal Project, to supply oil to Alaska in case of an invasion. Frank worked as a cat skinner and guide to the survey crew - often spending weeks alone in the Mackenzie Mountains.
In the late 40's and early 50's Frank worked in the interior of British Columbia and on Vancouver Island, diamond drilling. Frank went to Uranium City in 1953 on a two week staking job and later that year moved his family there where they lived for thirty years, until the town closed in 1983. Frank and Mary then moved to LaRonge where they lived for one year. Then they moved to Shell Lake where they were once again neighbors to the Monks family.
On December 24, 2002 Frank suffered a stroke and remained in hospital until his move to Whispering Pine Nursing Home in Canwood and then to the Spiritwood Health Center. Frank remained there until October 10, 2003 when he went to meet his Lord and Maker.
