BENJAMIN ANDREW MAGUIRE
January 8, 1918 - September 7,2004

Proud veteran of the Royal Canadian Navy and Legion, Benjamin A. (Ben) Maguire, died peacefully on September 7, 2004 after a lengthy illness. The last of four siblings, Ben is survived by his loving wife Rose, sons Ron (Lynne), Don (Pam), Michael, daughter Anne and step-son Earl Gustafson, numerous grandchildren, and two great-children.
Ben enjoyed a widely varied life throughout much of Western and Northern Canada, and remained in touch with many of his life-long friends including some of those he served as Cub and Scout Master. Ben was an accomplished goalie for the Edmonton Oil Kings in the 1930's and remained an avid sports fan throughout his life. During his retirement he became well known for his handiwork and love of time spent in gardening and workshop projects. Ben enjoyed a keen sense of humour and loved a good laugh. He will be greatly missed by those who knew him, and by many of those whose lives he touched.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. Interment will take place at the cemetery in Edgewood, BC at a later date.
