Walter Semchuk

Walter owned and operated the "Men's Style Shop" in Uranium City from late 1952 to 1957, died January 30th in Salmon Arm BC. He would have been 80 years old on March 20th. Besides operating his clothing store, Walter was instrumental, along with a brother and sister, in bringing the first winter road from Meadow Lake to Uranium City during the winter of 1955-56. The road north which later basically followed this route is today know as "The Semchuk Trail".
